In broadcast news the campers compile polls and news related to their week at camp. They report the findings at the end of the week on stage in a mock news broadcast. Each week a counselor guides them in thinking of stories to cover.
Once the class is organized campers interview counselors and campers. The stories range from recent updates of the pond's 500 lb leech to a counselor's findings when he traveled to the moon.
The stories tend to get silly, but we also cover some actual camp history. Since the class performs on the last day of camp, it's great to recall the highlights of the week. |
