Leadership Development
(formerly Counselor In Training)
The Leadership Development Program (LDP) is designed to develop leadership skills and provide training in child development and behavior, program development, and teaching techniques. During all three levels of the LDP program, these skills — as they apply to camping situations — are taught by Camp Downer's experienced staff leaders.
Qualifications
- LDP 1: Must have completed 8th grade (Only offered during the two-week session)
- LDP 2: Must have completed 9th grade (Only offered during the two-week session)
- LDP III (Staff Aide): Must have completed 10th grade and either completed the LDP II course or been recommended by the Resident Director.
(Staff Aide sessions are June 25-July 7, July 23-August 4, August 6-18, 2006)
